E-Game should be defined as a sport. E-Games industry has grown tremendously in regard to spectators, coverage in thelocal media and participants worldwide. Competitive gaming is in the limelight; current events are spread throughout the media such as SABC3 and 5FM. Technology companies are competing hard to introduce attractive E-games as they try to capitalize on this growing industry. The most frequent question that remains unanswered to people; is whether the game is credible enough to be a real sport.

The dictionary definition of a sport is physical recreation done simultaneously against an opponent with animated movements that involves physical exertion. E-Sport is defined as a virtual game played competitively (GMZ). The difference between them comes down to a common factor of physical exertion. According to some E-game critics, any sporting activity that does not have physical exertion does not qualify to be a sport (Benjamin 17). Over the decades, sporting activities have experienced revolution just like in any other industry.

Sports such as golfing, bows and curling have all been classified as sports despite the minimal or absence of physical exertions. E-Games are sports that requires a lot of concentration, skills, and focus just like soccer or any other sport. For instance, Chess is a sport that does not involve any physical movement.Additionally, E-Game requires strategy that needs mental prowess just like soccer and athletics needs one to be physically fit. These games require; one to practice and learn how opponents play as well as understanding rules of the game.

Unlike other sports, there are hundreds of E-Games with different styles and methods of playing. Excelling in these games requires a lot of dedication, training, and perfection; and to remain competitive in these games, one has to practice and train regularly. In the game like poker card, players participate in their game while sitting down without any physical movement and yet are accepted as sports worldwide (Benjamin 15). In fact, Porker card games is software installed in computers just like the E-Games.

There is no significance difference between the E-game and poker card. In rational point of view, the aspect of physical involvement is not the only aspect that should be used to define a game as a sport.Subjectively, E-Games are perceived as games for the lazy people who prefer sitting down in their couches and playing the games at comfort of their houses. However, the question is; can it be considered as lazy game for a physically impaired person, who cannot play soccer or run in the field?

Is this laziness? Virtual games are sports run Insilco that allows people to use their mental skills more than physical skills (GMZ). E-Games have virtual characters that represent the actual players in computer platforms. Real players command the virtual players using their skills and expertise in these games, and this involves them directly in the games although not physically.Today, E-Bay and E-commerce are best online business. Clients shop online; they select and make payments electronically.

These are much different from the traditional mode of trade. Online shoppers do all this at comfort of their homes or cars while eBay makes delivery arrangements (Farmer and Murphy 23); and so, is the E-game when we come to sport. The world has undergone a lot of revolution in every aspect of life. In E-bay business, people do not have to walk physically to business premises and despite this, the mode of business transaction have been proved to be the most efficient. The aspect of absence of physical involvement does not hold sufficient evidence to disqualify E-bay as trade and, so is E-game cannot be disqualified to be a sport.

Today, technology has allowed the normal activities to be performed in the online platform for convenience and efficiency. This has been extended to the sports industry where people have the opportunity to play any game, irrespective of their physical fitness, times of the day and availability of the facility, such as playing fields. In conclusion, E-Game is a sport. The physical involvement cannot be used to define sports at this age and time. The world is changing, and everything seems to be happening Insilco.

Any competitive activity that requires skills to compete within a set of rules should be considered a sport.Works CitedBenjamin, T. "eGames: Is imagination the forgotten ingredient?"
