The author seems rather dismayed by the fact that marriage has become a joke in Las Vegas and this is not only restricted to Las Vegas but also in many other cities in the world.

The seriousness of marriage has been long forgotten by the people and this is decaying our society. There is sarcasm in the short story and the author also aims to bring about a positive change in the society by making the readers understand the importance of marriage and the responsibilities that come with it.
