CRITICAL THINKING General Analysis By:______________________ ____________________ Institute:___________________ ____________________ What is a Critical Thinker?
Simply put, it’s any person who has a heart as well as a head. They make their decision, with precise perfection. Trusting their own reasoning alone with mildly considering opinions of others, they think seriously and get fully involved in the thinking process itself.
2. Characteristics of a Critical Thinker in Me!
I believe I posses some of the most powerful characteristics, that qualify me as an average critical thinker. I have the qualities of:
Active listening by engaging in the conversation
Have objectivity and curiosity
And the above all, I have the patience to listen to criticism on my ideas.
3.  "Irrational Convictions" By Dr. Dunnes I am Guilty Of!
It was good to know that I am guilty of only ‘starting three’ assumptions out of all twelve. That helps me in believing I have high potential of being a good critical thinker.
4. Stronger Assumptions from my View!
I believe, Dr. Dunnes is pretty justified when he state that:
Adults need appreciation and ignorance can cause de-motivation leading to irrational behaviors.
Un-achievement of expectations, defiantly leads to disappointment and biased - emotionally influenced decisions.
Helplessness in punishing someone when believing they behaved in a wicked way, leads to frustration and ultimately, spontaneous irrational attitude or actions.
Some people sympathize themselves, get depressed and behave irrationally, because they get easily influenced by other people around who make them feel bad and sorry about themselves.
Insecurity and lack of believe on self-power cause some to behave irrationally in absence of any self assumed stronger power.
5. Use of Critical Thinking in General
Being a student I believe that critical thinking is an important element in field of academics. It helps students gain self confidence and break the cycle of ‘band wagon affect’. It gives them the ability to research, analyze and evaluate their future decisions regarding career and education. It will ultimately lead to better leaders rather followers, who believe on what they listen and never question about the credibility on the provided information.
