Persuasive Letter to an Exam Organization - Admission/Application Essay Example

First and foremost, I am currently experiencing financial hardships, as I come from a less privileged family. Due to our poor financial background, my family cannot afford to pay for the whole exam one more time. However, I am very committed to completing my studies so that I can pursue my dream career. This financial predicament is a big letdown on my behalf, and this is the main reason why I am asking you to be considerate of my situation.

Secondly, I would also like to bring to your attention that it is pretty hard to find the proper patients and bring them to specific locations for the exam. Therefore, I am asking you to give me a second chance to retake the failed exam, since I may not be able to find the exact patients to bring to the exam center. Due to financial constraints, it may also be difficult for me to move around looking for the ideal patients. As I have indicated earlier, I am more than willing to complete my course, but I am facing these predicaments which are beyond my control.

The other issue is related to family matters. Four years ago, my son was born and his weight was 1 pound 5 ounces. He spent 8 months in the NICU and had seven surgeries that were necessary to save his life. He cannot walk and has not reached any milestones yet, though we are constantly working on it. He requires a 24-hour observation, and we have to constantly take care of him. Our son has an undiagnosed brain injury affectionately called "death spells" by his neurologist – he simply stops breathing sometimes, and we have to resuscitate him. This has further strained our financial position, and the experience I have gone through is so stressful that it has negatively impacted my performance during the last exam portion of my total exam. I have all the documentation to prove the health condition of my son.

I am also aware that one can take the written portion of the exam up to three times if the attempts are made within 18 months of the first portion of the clinical exam. Unfortunately, I could not do this as a result of the pressing situation at home I have mentioned above. My son’s health is a real burden to me and has so worsened my financial position that the idea of retaking the whole exam would hurt us financially. This may affect my ability to gain meaningful employment if I fail to retake the failed examination. Against this background, I am, therefore, asking you to be considerate of my situation and allow me to retake only one written portion of the exam without having to retake the whole exam.
