Just as operating system is mandatory for computer system to work for, MS Office has become no less important than that.
MS Office package consists of variety of applications like word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, projects, network diagrams and email client etc (Murray, 2006). These are named as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Visio and MS Outlook etc. MS Project and MS Visio are comparatively recent addition in the MS Office Package. MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint are the old tools and the paper will discuss the utility of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
MS Word is a word processing tool which enables the user to write letters and applications. The file of MS Word is known as document. It has extension of .doc, in MS Office 2007, it becomes .docx. Correspondence is the inevitable function in human lives. In the corporate sector, its importance is manifold; hence they want to standardize it. There is variety of letters, a typist writes every day and the letters are beautified with the help of MS Office.
It goes without saying that MS Word enables one to use clip board functions. Cut, copy, paste is used uncountable times while drafting a letter and it has saved the user from undue hassle of retyping the contents again and again. MS Word allows insertion and deletion of content from any point in the document, hence editions are made easy. There was a time, when there was no possibility of changing the draft once it is written. Even for minor changes, the complete content needed to be rewritten. MS Word removed this barrier and provided the user with easy to use word processor which he can use for his maximum ease.
