FINAL PROJECT Criminal justice is the formation of practices and s of administration aimed at maintaining communal control, deterring, and extenuating crime. This mostly involves defense for people accused of crime against investigatory and prosecution powers. In the current job structure, I hold the position of a judge. I am required to independently manage the lawful procedures and present an ultimate judgment for a case to be disposed.
For one to become a judge, they must have knowledge about law. This is the reason many judges have had to pass through the universities to acquire a Bachelor’s degree in law. It is also important to acquire a degree from an accredited law school, which is followed by proving of ones quality as a lawyer. This enables the community and state to appreciate the quality of services offered leading to election as a judge.
The most important step to becoming a judge is gaining education. However, a number of courses such as public speaking, government, English, philosophy, and history should boost it. This is because a judge must have skills that include analyzing, logical thinking, speaking, and researching so s to acquire success.
To become a judge one must be able to analyze situations in the current world in an acceptable manner. This is the reason experience as a lawyer is very important. In addition, one must have some public support, which is achieved during the trial processes. Since Judges are mostly appointed or elected, it is essential to have favor from the top officials by gaining political support. This ensures that the people involved in appointing are aware of your services and can recommend them as a judge.
As a judge, it is important to keep track of any changes in the state laws. It is also essential to ensure that all cases are ruled in favor of the law. In addition, one must avoid any form of involvement in crime and corruption issues. Corruption is the best way to ensure that a judge is brought down. Most importantly, cases must be criticized and a ruling given in accordance with the law.
I have worked as a judge for quite a number of years. After my education, I started out as a layer, where I defended cases successfully. I was always successful in most cases, which led to appointment a judge by the state council. After the appointment, I have listened to different cases for seven years. As each year increases in my calendar, I gain new ways to handle similar cases. Over the years, I have boosted my position through acquiring education in a number of courses.
Working as a judge has advantages and disadvantages which leads to likes and dislikes in the job. One challenge is that one has to make judgments about complicated issues regardless of their occurrence in prior cases. The judgment should be in favor of the law, s one has to be acquainted with the law. This state ensures that lawyers are always reading to familiarize themselves with any changes. Despite these challenges, a judge has the benefit of working only in courtrooms and never in administration of the court.
If anyone wants to become a judge, it is essential to follow all the steps as guided above. There are other ways to becoming judges, but I believe my method is the most recognized.
