The purpose of this study is to understand the role played by Mudabala and Siemen’s in the economic diversification of Abu Dhabi. Mudabala Development Company (Mudabala) is an investment vehicle wholly-owned by the Government Abu Dhabi. Mudabala aims to further the economic of Abu Dhabi through diversification. The primary undertaking of the company is to enter into long-term capital-intensive investments so as to provide Abu Dhabi with strong financial returns and aggressive improvements in the city. On the other hand, Siemen’s, as an important member of the Masdar Institute has been instrumental in the process entailed by transformation. As a result, this paper endeavored to seek the opinion of the standard-bearers of the two companies taking the helm of the economic diversification of Abu Dhabi. The views expressed by the Chief Operating Officers of Mudabala and Siemen’s has been instrumental in establishing a clear and in-depth view as to the steps necessitated by the “Plan Abu Dhabi 2030: Urban Structure Framework Plan.” The interviews conducted will provide the readers with a comprehensive look into the economic progressive course that Abu Dhabi is currently undertaking.
