Consider your role as a health care leader with respect to accountability from individual, organizational, legal, and regulatory perspectives. Clearly and succinctly describe the ethical issue and then address any applicable legal and regulatory considerations, institutional policies and procedures, and the industry or professional ethical concepts that apply. State the problem, citing the model used, provide bulleted or summarized recommendations, and include at least four credible, references cited using the APA Style and Formatting guidelines. The most important environmental and social problems, which companies bother about, include unsafe products production, environmental pollution, ignoring of health care and safety standards, bribery, child labour usage, honesty and fairness in marketing (Harris J., 2000).

Let us take a closer look at one of the most relevant and urgent problems of today, which is associated with various violations of health care and safety requirements.
SHA Report on Top 10 Safety Violations (2009) contains information about the most common and widespread health care and safety accidents in 2009, which are notably: scaffold accidents, poor fall protection, hazardous contacts with chemicals and other dangerous material, poor respiratory protection, electrical accidents.
After careful consideration of some companies, we pointed out several methods how they solve common health care and safety problems.

For instance, Swedish construction company Skanska focuses its attention on such areas as Safety & Occupational Health; Diversity & Equal Opportunities; Training and Education (Skanska Annual Report, 2008). The company has developed its Safety Policy, which consists of guidelines for safety standards implementation. Besides that, Skanska has mandatory training regarding the environment and business ethics for all employees. Another bright example of responsible performance demonstrates Brazilian company Odebrecht, which has developed Accident Prevention Program. This health program includes training workshops; daily risk assessments of job tasks; worker certification in safety standards; and training in emergency response procedures with periodic accident simulation (Odebrecht Social Actions Report, 2007).

All of the above-described measures are considered to be quite effective and thus, we strongly recommend companies to apply them in order to responsible and sustainable policy concerning environmental and health care safety issues. Considering the fact that modern companies seem to become more and more socially responsible, it is important to avoid one of the most important ethical conflicts of nowadays, which concerns the problem of health care and safety violations.
In order to meet the requirement of health care and safety, companies are recommended to develop and implement their own Safety Programs, which would take into account specific features of their business, and organize training workshops and other educational events in order to inform workers about health care and safety standards and teach them to respond properly in case any accidents happen.
