Extract of sample "Spelling Out The Truth"

Service has been my dream career. I believe I can dedicate my life to nursing career without any distractions because, from my childhood, I had desired to become a nurse. I had a neighbor who was a nurse and who inspired me with stories of perseverance that she witnessed among her co-workers while working as a Red Cross nurse in the war front. She had also volunteered to work in remote villages of Africa as part of a UN humanitarian mission. She was love and compassion personified and I some times even felt that God had sent her to me to guide me in choosing my career.

When I grew up, I started reading the stories of nursing legends and was more eager to join this profession. I know that practical nursing program has its own ethical and professional principles and I believe I could obey and assimilate them in the most profound way. The principles of beneficence and non-maleficence are only manifestations of my perception of compassion for me. Because I fully realize that my eternal joy rests in the joy of others as well. Being a disciplined and consistent care giver might be hard work for others, but it is a joyful commitment for me towards God and towards those who have cared for me.

Even if I could attain the ability to give a moment of relief to a suffering person, I would consider that as the greatest achievement of my life.
