Fashion has always attracted me ever since I was a young child as I frequently watched fashion shows on television. The beauty and glamour of models as well as the clothes never failed to attract my attention. What started as pure admiration for things that looked beautiful grew into a passion that I have nurtured for a long time. My childhood dream to get involved in fashion is manifested by my desire to finish a degree with a major in International Trade and Marketing for Fashion Industries.

If this university would admit me, I would be able to acquire the training and experience needed so I can become a successful entrepreneur someday. I started pursuing this dream of getting involved in the fashion industry by taking some classes in a local state college in a small city in Russia. As I learned more about the fashion industry, the more I became interested that I did extra readings on the subjects so I can see what’s evolving in fashion on the international front. Because of my zeal and diligence, I received 3.

5 UGPA along with scholarships and government stipend. That experience showed me that passion and talent combined with hard work would make you reach your dreams. I decided to move to New York City to attend this university because of its specialties in liberal arts. In addition to aesthetic skills, I am efficient with computer and social sciences. I earned these skills while enrolled in John Jay College where I was able to strive academically. Because of my enthusiasm and diligent efforts, I was able to make the Dean’s List with a UGPA of 3.9. In the recent past, I was once a sales associate in a small retail boutique located in Astoria, Queens.

It was there when I decided that the business-side to fashion would fasten me to my ideal career. The creative side to the fashion industry does not interest me as the business aspect does, which I realized during my limited time working in Astoria. I realized the value of having good business management skills as well as leadership skills which can greatly aid me establishing and running my own business. I am ecstatic knowing that the course will aid me as I strive to reach my dreams as an international fashion entrepreneur.

My goal would be to do fashion business with Japanese, Russian, American, western European, and Indian markets. This university would bring me the knowledge and skills I need to learn about the emerged markets of such countries. Being multi-lingual, I am confident that I will have little problems with communication. I also take interest in many different cultures and lifestyles which drive my desire to explore them. My native language is Russian but I am also fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.

Within the next month I plan to study French, among a long list of languages I plan to learn. As I set myself up for global trade, I believe that this university can offer me the skills I need to develop and utilize as an international entrepreneur. I fervently hope that I would be given that chance and earn my mark on the fashion industry as an accomplished business leader one day.
