Extract of sample "Portland General Electric Park"

The field to be is covered with vehicles, construction equipment, and trailers, as well as building materials such as aggregate piles and steel beams. Construction is being carried on 'from the inside out' as much as possible to minimize traffic disruption on the surrounding streets.Eventually, the stadium will be domed. However, right now there is no roof at all. At present, the construction work is focused on improving and enlarging the seating area while also installing the structural elements that will support the dome.

On the date that I visited the following specific tasks were ongoing:1. Steel canopy pieces were being put in place on the eastern stands 2. New seating areas were having precast treads installed.3. Cement floors were being poured on the top deck 4. New field drainage was being put in the underground.5. Metal stud framing was being installed in the renovated press box.The complexity of the project and the complexity of the organization (almost choreography) was overwhelming. Work was going on, literally, from underground (the new drainage system) to the dome (canopy on the east stands).

It was also at various stages from structural - pouring concrete on the south-east wall of the stadium - to framing - the studding of the new press box.
