During the course of their growing up, especially at the juncture of adolescence to youth, Joni and Laser, like all the other children of their age encounters certain emotional void that cannot entirely fulfilled by their mothers. Thus, in the quest of satisfying their emotional faculty Laser insists Joni to contact their biological father Paul. Paul’s entry in the scene not only results in certain further complications in the existing situation, as on parts of mothers the factor of priority rights to their children are raised.

However, the film finally shows that how each of the characters strive their way to mutual harmony and co-existence, both physical and emotional, by empathizing with each other’s situation and learn to live happily as parts of a complete family dynamics (The Kids Are All Right 2010).
