Microsoft Word is at a high demand for anybody that owns a computer or is a student or works in a large business due to its benefits and ease of use (Tyson, 2010). The interface of Microsoft Word is so simple that even computer novices are able to work their way around the various features and functions that the program has to offer, providing them with many tools to make their documents and reports unique and organized.

Any student or large business employee or owner can benefit from the simplicity of Microsoft Word, as well as the hundreds of options that it comes with to create the perfect report or project. As Microsoft Word is often used to prepare reports for both schools and businesses, one of the most beneficial functions is the ability to make an outline of the required assignment. With the bullets and numbering functions, including special features to do a tiered outline, detailed outlines can be created to prepare the writer and give them the confidence they need to complete their research paper while staying on track.

The outline can also help to maintain the notes that the researcher may obtain during their research. Furthermore, through the use of Microsoft PowerPoint paired with Microsoft Word, the outline can be converted into a PowerPoint slide (Ion, 2009), which can be used to present the initial idea of the report to anyone who may ask for it, as well as further help organize the writer. Microsoft Word is the most useful program when it comes to writing the actual report. One of the most useful and beneficial aspects about Microsoft Word is that it is simple to use. Every function that anyone could possibly want to use to bring out the best of their report is easy to find and just as easy to use. Through the Help icons on the menu bar, Microsoft Word users can type in a description of what they want to do and the tool will point them in the right direction (Mendelson, 2010).

There is very little that Microsoft Word is not able to do, leaving very little to the imagination of the users and report and document creators. The ease of use is a big plus to fans of Microsoft Word, whether they are computer pros or are new to the technology world. Microsoft Word users proud themselves in being able to create quality documents with simplicity and ease (Arar, 2010). If a user wants to make a simple report without inserting images or graphs, they are able to do so without difficulty.

If a user wants to have their report be equipped with the bells and whistles of a very informative document, this can also be done without frustration. Microsoft Word offers every utility that a student or business person could ever use, continuing to come up with other options as users send in their feedback as to what they could use or want to see in new and updated software.
