These include feedback from the students, the ratings assigned by the students for a particular course etc. The student reports would indicate the broad direction of faculty effectiveness and the additional parameters like rapport with students is to be used to indicate the effectiveness of the faculty towards the teaching process.
Further, observation of the teaching methods is indeed a useful method that can be used to analyze the effectiveness of the teachers. Finally, for lower scores I can use the SPTE reports that gather a wide range of factors and include details on the different aspects of the teaching process. For higher scores, the student reports are enough to determine the effectiveness of the teaching process.
3) Many of the factors like the ones discussed in the answer to question 2 are indeed pedagogical in nature inasmuch as they refer to the effectiveness of the teaching methods as they rely on factors that are to do with the methods of teaching. For interpersonal factors, the following can be used to rate the teachers: Rapport with students, Stimulation of Interest, Class Discussion, Respect for students and fairness in grading. These factors talk about the relevance of each of the variables being studied in relation to the interpersonal attributes as they relate to the effectiveness of the bonding between the teacher and the student. Hence, these interpersonal factors can be used to make a judgment about the effectiveness of the teaching process.
