Soon, after the Second World War, economic growth attained the topmost priority list of almost all of the first world countries. The book “Managing without Growth: Slower by Design, Not Disaster” presents and puts emphasis on three basic arguments pertaining to the matter. Based on these arguments Peter Victor suggests the rich countries move away from the economic growth as their prime objective and advice them to adhere a path that put stress to pursue more concentrated and specified objectives pertaining to the enhancement of general well being of the mass.

The continuous pushing of growth by the rich countries might lag the poorer countries behind where the benefits are more evident. The author also argues that the growth of income in rich countries can bring happiness, affluence, and satisfaction to an extent, which the author believes that has been already surpassed in rich countries.  The book provides innovative insights into the grave issue at the peripheral economy pertaining to ecology which is presented in a way that a wider audience can relate themselves with the issues.
