going into the topic of critical period being faced by the Islamic world and then finding out those factors which are to be explored by the Islamic countries to sort out those challenges and problems, let’s first know what Islam is. Islam is a holy religion followed by its adherents or believers and is synchronized by a sacred holy book ‘Quran’. The religion Islam is comprised of various rules and regulations which act as a law for its believers and followers. Those persons who have a proper faith on the guidance set by the holy book Quran are said to be as followers of Islam.

Or we can say that the people who follow the rule and regulations set by Islam are termed as Muslims and the countries where Islam is followed as a chief religion are called Islamic countries. Islam educates its followers to live their lives according to the set of rules given in the holy book. Now let’s have a brief description of the Islamic world. Islamic world, also known as Muslim world, comprises of sixty three countries in which the religion of Islam is followed as the main religion and where all the rules and regulations are set according to the teachings of Islam.

If we talk about the total strength of the Muslim community, then we can say that community of the Islamic world falls in the range of thirteen to fifteen billion people that may be called one-fifth of the total population of the world. This enormous number of Muslim community is spread in all parts and all continents of the world and the major and religious association between them is Islam. Islam is that source which keeps them in association and link with each other. If we talk about the differences between the Muslim communities, we come to know that the major difference between them is of civilization language as different countries in different parts of the world have a different language to speak and different culture.

But that doesn’t mean that they are different from religious aspect also. Religious
