I read a great deal of scholarly work and became very much interested in the global phenomenon since I believed that much was yet to be discovered. I believed that banks played a significant role in causing the crisis. I also read a lot regarding the beginning of the economic crisis, the spread as well as the impact of the crisis on other industries globally. I thought of establishing new knowledge in this field but I could not accomplish this desire due to the limited resources as well as inadequate knowledge that was necessary to conduct meaningful research.

However, I did not give up. Rather I saw the challenges as a motivator towards accomplishing more in education. I developed my long term objectives while still undertaking my under graduate studies. I believed that if I could become a professional researcher in Business Administration I could spearhead the recovery of the businesses in Nigeria, which have suffered enormous losses as a result of the economic crisis. I understood that before I could be in a position to acquire essential knowledge to accomplish the overall goal of spearheading the recovery of banks in Nigeria, I had to set short term objectives to be accomplished in studies while preparing for the long term goal that will be significant for the success of Nigerian banks.

However, accomplishment of these objectives has to be realized after sacrificing time and resources in education to acquire research skills. I realized that a PhD program would be significant for me to accomplish my endeavors. My short term goals are to undertake the PhD program with much effort focused on the banking sector. When I was undertaking my undergraduate studies, I learnt that in order to accomplish the ultimate goal, it is important to break down the major tasks that are likely to be overwhelming in to smaller tasks that are easy to accomplish.
