One can only note that Moshe Yaalon a.k.a the Bogie, is an individual who has been corrupted by the vast power enjoyed by him over the years. Certainly, his handling of the Palestinian issue and the internal security apparatus within the country as the chief of the army does absolve him of any notion of self-irony. Moshe still seems to look at the issue from the perspective of a military campaigner. The Bogie may be thinking he had driven home a candid point, but he is simply fanning the fires that have been raging on for years and this could soon turn the victim to an aggressor.

So beware Yaalon, see that you do not turn yourself into the next Yitzhak Rabin through your comments. The Bogie has developed a sense of Chauvinism and this should be kept in check by the establishment. The public does no longer have the appetite to accept just about anything. Occupying a position of responsibility calls for one to be sensible in their address to the public. Yaalon should change his attitude of looking at justice as an absolute system and that anything that disputes it should be tainted with all sorts of malign.

Yaalon’s comments have contradicted the hard work put up both by the movement and the government that has been striving to achieve peace, a distant reality for more than half a century. Do not destroy what you cannot help build and do not put others into trouble through your actions and words. The Bogie’s comments are a wake-up call not just for the Israeli government and the public, but to the Americans as well. There is no hidden agenda beneath these comments. The bogie has simply not smart enough to make a transition from a combative mode to an active role in public and administrative life.
