Running Head: Multiple flavors of the general linear model Multiple flavors of the general linear model [Institute's ] Multiple flavors of the general linear model Abstract A greater variety of the research outcomes can be analyzed in the better manner by using the general linear models in research in the social as well as the applied research fields. In this case it has been seen that the major problem that is faced by the researcher in using the linear model is the model specification and this has been defined as the discontinuity design in case of the regression analysis. Introduction Linear models in statistics are the ones that are used in the research to make the analysis in the fields of the applied as well as social research. These tests include T tests, analysis of variance, covariance as well as the regression analysis. In this list there are many other methods and these include the factor analysis, cluster analysis as well as the multidimensional scaling as well as canonical correlation and the discrimination function analysis. There is an importance that has been associated with the statistical linear models as has been realized in case of the researchers as well as the students. In this case it has been realized that the deep understanding is required in case of the linear regression models as it has been used in the wide variety of research but still a greater and a wide perspective of research is needed. As the paper is to analyze the associated importance of the linear models of analysis in statistics, the research on the topic of organization justice is to be observed. The main topic that shall be observed in this case is the effect of organization justice on personnel hiring in these organizations. The main statistical analysis that is being conducted in all the included studies is the regression analysis. Recently it has been seen that the organization commitment has been the topic of research since many years as its importance has been realized in the organization. All of the researches that have been referred to in the paper deal with an importance that has been associated with the hiring of employees and personnel by keeping in mind the justice that is being implanted in the organizations. For an organizational researcher the main topic of interest has been the way in which the human resources within the firm are being utilized to gain the competitive edge in the market. In addition to this it has been seen that the level of the organization justice that is being implemented in the organization within the management has a direct effect on the social relationships that exist between the employee and the organization as a whole. It has been analyzed that this is the topic that has been researched by the researchers by implementing the statistical techniques as it has been seen that the employees tend to work for the organization in such a way that, maximizes the returns for the organizations. There have been many studies that have tried to link the organization outcomes with the justice within the organizations. The need for the research arises by realizing the fact that the justice perceptions within the organization are linked to various organization outcomes and these are inclusive of the job satisfaction, the commitment for the organization well as the greatest amount of the trust from the employees. Main aspect in this case that has been analyzed is the commitment that is achieved from the employees. the commitment that is being shown by the employees can be of various forms and this can range from the effectiveness being reflected by an organization as well as the faithfulness and the well being of the employees. Commitment can define the psychological state of the employee as has been seen by the researchers that the employees who are involved in the organizational commitment are seen to be more engaged in the behaviors as the high performance as well as the citizenship for the organization. In the included researches the measures have been taken to assess the levels of the organizational justice in the organizations in some cases the measures have been made by making the questionnaires by designing the scales for the responses and in this includes the item that is being measured include the level of commitment being shown by the employees, the level of an organizational justice being observed within an organization as well as the level of the procedural and the relational justice being observed in the organization. Article Research question Data Analysis Alam, Shah, Syed., and Ishak, Amir, Noormala. (2009). The Effects of Leader-Member Exchange on Organizational Justice and Organizational Citizenship Behavior: Empirical Study. European Journal of Social Sciences, 8(29): 324-334 Organization citizenship and the commitment level in the employees is the very important aspect to be measured in terms of the organizational justice. Non supervisory as well as the employed employees in the commercial banks are surveyed. Regression analysis Elovainio, Marko., Kivimki, Mika., and Vahtera, Jussi. (2002). Organizational Justice: Evidence of a New Psychosocial Predictor of Health. American Journal of Public Health, 92, (1): 105-108 The organization justice is an important measure of the employee's psychological health. Employees have been asked to respond on the questionnaire that reflect the various levels of justice in an organization. Regression analysis Cohen-Charasha, Yochi., and Spectorb, E. Paul . (2002). The Role of Justice in Organizations: A Meta-Analysis. Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, 89(2): 278-321 Distributive, procedural, and interactional justice are to be examined in the health based organizations. Employees have been asked to respond on the questionnaire that reflects the three levels of justice in an organization. Regression analysis As one can see that in all these cases it has been seen that there are various dimensions of organization justice being measured and the analysis is being made by taking into account of what the employees take into account by the questionnaires that have been made in such a way that reflect the different dimensions of the organizational justice. The results that have been seen in this case have been organized in the manner that requires the regression analysis in some cases. As the responses from the questionnaires had been tabulated with the diversions as well as the variance and it had been seen that in some cases the regression analysis had to be carried out. The regression analysis in some cases had been carried out by making the regression of the leadership member exchange on the organization justice. By the detailed analysis ist has been analyzed that there is a relationship between the organization justice as well as the distributional justice and this is the relationship that has been linked with the leadership member exchange. In case of the psychological health measures in case of the organization justice it has been seen that the employees that have the higher incomes receive the greater percentage of the organization justice as compared to the ones with the lower incomes and it is related to the lower health rates in the employees. In the third case the results reflect the fact that the outcomes in case of the organization are related to three main kinds of the organizational justices. It has been analyzed by the analysis that the job performance and the employee behaviors are the outcomes that are related to the perceived justice in this case. In this case it has been analyzed that the commitment behavior is related to the procedural organization justice as has been analyzed in the first case as well. An important factor that has been seen in the regression analysis is the dummy variable as this is he number that is itself the variable that represents the subgroups of the samples that are being used in the research. In this case the different treatment groups within the research are being distinguished by the dummy variable. An importance that has been associated with these variables is that the dummy variables can help in representing the multiple treatments groups with the single equation. Here the main advantages that has been pointed out is the fact that the separate equations are not to be assigned for each subgroups in fact the same equation can be used for different groups. There are different levels of measurement in the regression analysis and these are the ones that referee to the different values that are being researched in the study. In this cases it has to be seen that all the variables that are included in the research study has many attributes and these are the ones that are dealt in detail by the measurement analysis that is being done in the research. The effect size is one of the most important part in the statistical study. It has been seen that the effect size has an important role to play in the statistical research. In addition to this there have been numerous discussions in this case it has been said that the effect size is the one part that reflects a relationship that has been seen in the two variables. The effect sizes are the ones that are based as well as are analyzed on the basis of the test statistics. In this case the example can be given as the relationship has been analyzed between the employee behavior and the organizational justice thereby the effect size is the one that has helped in measuring the relationship between these two variables. In this case the most important thing is that the strength of a relationship which is under study is the one is studied. On the other hand the other way to analyze the relationships is the application of the significance level in this case and it has been seen that the relationship that is being researched can be because of the chance existence. Conclusion In case of the statistical as well as the scientific study as has been seen that the relationship between the two values can have the significant importance for the researcher. In addition to this the most important effect that has to be seen is the size of the relationship that is being researched and in this case it has been seen that the size of the relationship is very critical in this case. In addition to this it has been seen that the effect sizes are the ones that can help the researchers in making the decisions in research as it has been seen that the highly significant relationship can be the ones having the smaller effect size. It has been seen that the effect sizes have very important roles to play in the meta analysis in the statistical studies. References Cottingham, K. L., Lennion, J. T., and Brown, B. L. (2005).
