These concerns are real social problems that the nation faces at present.
There have been significant changes in the population growth since 1967 and it has been unevenly distributed, since 1970, with growth in the South and West, and loss in the other areas. This will result in many types of social problems. Already there are many problems like increased traffic congestion, proliferation of foreign language TV channels, expansion in the number of professional teams and so on. These are minor issues compared to the more serious issues connected with environment, education system, health care system, political system and others.
The racial and ethnic disparities that the US is facing put the nation in great distress. The difference in these areas can turn up as decisive factor in the making up of the modern civility. The life in the nation is conditioned by the racial and ethnic group one belongs to. There is now a substantial gap between the minority and the White which can result in the social unrest as well. The minority that is growing at a fast rate will hold increasing share of the future work, resulting in the social imbalance.

One of the most common problems in any society is the prevalence of crime, both violent assaults and property crimes. High crime rate has been attributed to various factors, such as poverty, inequality, lack of moral value, greed for material things and human nature among other factors.
There are objective social realities like poverty, racism, sexism etc that cause social problems of material or psychological anguish to the people and they form part of such a definition. However, subjective factors always occupy a position in the definition of social problems. The myths and official dogma that exist at the time also affect the definition.
A major contributor to the high fertility rate in these countries is the issue of poverty. Large families are a result of the poverty and the poverty is not the reason behind large families. The main ways to reduce the population growth include economic development, family-planning programs, and social change.
This increased sensitivity on the underlying nuances of language and expression has also been accompanied by a similar increase in the appreciation of discourse as a valuable source of data and social insight for research. The value of analyzing discourse in the study of social interactions and individual behavior has become central to an ongoing debate within social psychology in regards to the legitimacy of such analysis as a leading paradigm for contemporary social psychology.
Poverty continued to exist, and the rich became richer, but the insertion of the middle class changed society in the 20th century. As Harold Perkin (2002, Preface, p.xv) has observed, "the Industrial Revolution was no mere sequence of changes in industrial techniques and production, but a social revolution with social causes as well as profound social effects".
