Primarily, appropriate editing can only be done with fortitude and with a precise checklist from the tutor which may contain the following as suggested by the author: 1) correct grammar; 2) correct spelling; 3) correct hyphens; 4) correct usage of commas; 5) correct usage of semicolons; 6) correct usage of punctuations; 7) correct usage of capitalizations, numbers, italics, and abbreviations; and 8) correct format of the assignment (Troyka 74).

Obviously, with the list of task, editing is quite tedious at first, but, as one gets used to the process, it becomes routine.
