Most of us are aware of who Michael Jordan is. We know that he is multitalented and extremely famous. In this essay, I am going to share with you some of his family history and athletic history.

Michael Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 17th, 1963. His parents are James and Dolores Jordan. Shortly after Michael’s birth, his parents moved to Wallace, North Carolina. When Michael was seven years old the Jordan family yet again moved to Wilmington, North Carolina.

Michael Jordan has been described as a very competitive person, a very fair person, and a warm and caring man. Michael Jordan says he has his parents to thank for instilling these values in him.

Michael’s speed, jumping ability, strength, control, and jumping ability are just some of the attributes that made Jordan an NBA superstar. He is considered to be one of the best players in the NBA.

In the 1986-87 seasons, Michael scored three thousand and forty-one points, the third-highest total in NBA history. He was the first player in twenty-four years to score more than three thousand points in one year.

Michael played in every one of the Bulls’ 1982 regular season games.  In the 1984-85 seasons he led Chicago into the playoffs for the first time in four seasons. Michael “Air” Jordan is a fantastic jumper and slam dunker. He dominated the sport of basketball through the mid-nineties.

In 1992 the Bulls had a victory over the Portland Trailblazers; this made it their second NBA win. Michael Jordan was having a very rough time dealing with the loss of his father who was shot in a robbery. He shocked the world when he retired from the NBA and went to play baseball for the Birmingham Barons.

Michael Jordan was inducted into the Hall of Fame in September 2009. His induction speech has been called anywhere between encouraging to deplorable. We all know Michael is a great basketball player. But, did you know he also has his shoe line through Nike? He calls them Air Jordan’s. Most of us love a good quote.
