SOCIOLOGY By definition, Sociology is a branch of science which deals with the study of social lives of human beings and human society. It deals withthe behavior of human as social beings. Sociology includes the political, economical and cultural behavior of an individual or groups forming a social network.The point being discussed is the social life of Tom Green, based on the movie, "Man with Many Wives." The movie has Tom Green playing the role of a social animal, ("Man is a social animal").

He is married to 9 women and has 30 children. Tom Green's life, as a social animal, is being discussed in sociology. Following are the points or social traits of sociology as part of Tom Green's life.1. Polygamy- Tom Green had taken many women as his wife.2. Bigamy - Tom Green had taken other women as his wives although he was already married to the first one.3. Family: Tom Green had made a family, living together with his wives and children.4. Social Network: A social network was created by Tom Green being associated with his wives and all their immediate and distant relatives.5. Social responsibility: Tom Green has taken the social responsibility assuming the role of a social animal to fulfill his responsibility to his family.

(Wives and Children)6. Future generation: Tom Green as a social animal was taking his generation to the next level by having children. 7. Child Marriage- Tom Green had taken one of the gals as his wife, when she was only 13 years old.8. Child Abuse- By marrying a minor, he had committed child abuse as well.9. Social Harmony: Although there were so many people living under the same roof, his wives, when interviewed stated that all were happy staying together.10. Adaptive Capacity: All his nine wives and 30 children were living together.

In sociology terms, they had developed adaptive capacity.11. Provider for the family: Having many women as his wives and also his children, he was providing for the family as a social animal. He was the provider of for the family.12. Male Dominance: Tom Green was the head of the family and he was directing and ordering everyone to work as per his rules. As per sociology terms, he was the dominator and was exhibiting male dominance13. Segregation of Duties/Structure and responsibility: Each wife was assigned a particular task and was required to perform the same for a common goal of the family.14. Joint Family: Although, it was only Tom Green's wives and children staying together, it can be termed as a joint family with many members living together.15. Religious Cult: Tom Green belonged to the Utahns group where polygamy is a religious cult and more than 30000 Utahns practice polygamy.

Informal Organization governs how people work together to get things done and relationships built among people sharing a common goal.17. Social vulnerability: By practicing something like this not common in the society, he was committing a social vulnerability. Tom Green's life gives a good insight to the systems of a social life and sociology, bring together the behavior of his giant family as social beings under one single roof.

It also brings together different political, economical and cultural behavior of an individual or groups forming a social network in a single roof.
