!In college, too, I am part of the College football team and attend regular practice sessions on weekends. The decisions and economic models I was exposed to at the Degree level has helped me gain experience and laid a good foundation in the field of business and economics. Having an interest in travelling and learning from other cultures, I opted for translation at the degree level. I am very fluent in English, Russian and Arabic. Not only has this helped me learn about new cultures, it will also help widen my scope for employment.

The natural choice after graduation was Avila University. This is the place where I feel at home. I can relate to the value based system of the University and feel proud to be associated with the same. Here, community service and volunteering are a way of life, you do not have to go out of the way to volunteer or be of help to the community. All of us are like-minded and my childhood dream of volunteering for community service came true. The experience I have gained in these years is indeed invaluable and will stand me in good stead in the years to come.

It was indeed a very proud moment for all of us when Avila University was been named for the 2009 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement.[ http://www.avila.edu/].I aim to be a global citizen, channelizing my knowledge of languages and management principles to serve society. With this aim in mind, I want to pursue a Doctorate in Business Administration from a prestigious University.

A few years from now, I visualize myself heading a centre for community service, maybe starting one myself. This would be different from others in the sense that it would be run on the same lines as a corporate. To be the best in your field, you need to hire talented and dedicated staff. With competition increasing and talented people expecting fat salaries, it is not possible to run an NGO like a charity. If you need profits, you need to apply the principles of business management and run the NGO like any other business.

With a majority of corporates dedicating a whole department to community service or the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), the job becomes all the more daunting. However, I am sure the experience I gain out of my Doctorate degree and research based on the experience of other veterans in the field will help me run my NGO just like any other business.I hope to be selected for the Doctoral program at your University and be able to contribute my little bit to society in my own way.
