I am deeply motivated to transfer to a pharmacy college as a third year student. My experience as an assistant pharmacist has infused in me the firm belief that pharmacists have a more multi-faceted role to play. I have a wider avenue in vision which includes constructive participation in this important field of medicine. My objective is not to confine myself within the periphery of dispensing medication but to take up a pro-active role in the health care system. I want to be a part of a pharmaceutical and medical device company where my patient care skills will be used to an optimum level.
As a practitioner of pharmacy I would like to engage myself in some of the challenging job profiles as of an Analytical Chemist, Drug Inspector, or the Customs office expert on drugs and pharmaceuticals. I did my Major in Science from Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) in New York. My overall GPA is 3.84. In the above introduction about myself I have mentioned that I am presently a management student in the 3rd year of my college. My present course deals intensively on the core subjects on management like, Management Accounting, Legal Aspects in Management, Operations Management and its quantitative analysis.
I have been working in New York Pharmacy since 2005. My tenure in the Pharmacy of New York made me more inclined towards this challenging (thus it is also interesting) profession. My experience of working here has triggered my latent idea of choosing pharmacy as a profession in future. The real life experience of communicating with the patients and my efforts as an assistant to the pharmacist have added to the impetus of becoming a well-groomed pharmacist. Besides understanding the nuances of this profession, I have had the privilege of watching closely how a pharmacist is supposed to function and what are the responsibilities he/she need to shoulder.
I also have the experience of working in Evolution Wireless communication where I was given the role of resolving and handling client's wireless issues. Since I have worked at a busy environment I nurtured the habit of being highly productive even at a high stress situation. It even helped me improving my communication skill and made me well-adept in English & Chinese. Why achieving a degree in pharmacy is very important to me - My interest in Pharmacy has escalated much due to my assessment of the contemporary scenario of this profession.
The rising cases of complex drug therapies and the ominous drug abuse has re-defined the importance of a pharmacist as a person who is answerable to the society as well as his profession. In a country like US, where the practice of prescribing medicine is strictly demarcated from the practice of dispensing, it is obvious that it is a pharmacist who undertakes the role of supplying scheduled pharmaceuticals to the common people. I have a firm conviction that my strong will to master Pharmacy and my working experience with a pharmacist will be a winning combination cementing my place in this medical domain.
Moreover, the need of skilled pharmacists is always there to ensure a more feasible approach to drug treatments. As an interested individual and a striving student I have this aim to change my passion (although newly evolved) into a profession. My concluding statement - Considering the factors that
