Problem ment What is the problem: The major business management issues that Kathy Kudler faces are basically related to business expansion. Since the basic idea behind the inception of this business was a small scale business operation with advanced levels of relations with the consumers, expansion has seen this initial vision dwindle. The aim now is to create a lawful marriage between the core niceties of the business and the increasingly expanding business operations. The other major problem that is the business faces is with regards to human resource management; Kathy may have the revenues for expansion but does she have the pertinent man-power with specialized gourmet skills which will allow her to expand her business operations and still manage to keep the gourmet specialization that is the crux of her business.

[1]Business Leadership is also a major problem for Kathy as with different outlets she would not be able to manage the task and operations of each outlets personally which is why she would need to find business managers who are capable in running the business, and even though she would be easily able to locate adept business managers, she might not be able to locate those that are well intone with the gourmet cooking business practices or are not interested in pursuing a career in this spectra of business.

[2]Solution to the problem: The solutions to the problems faced by Kathy Kudler are simplistic in theory but rather difficult in practice. However, it is this same theory that has to be applied in order to ascertain practical workable solutions to the problems. The major problem being faced is related to business expansion. Even though we assume that pertinent revenue is at hand which is required for expansion, there are still other factors of expansion which need to be catered to. A clear definitive business strategy has to be created which has to encompass the geographic activities of all the business centers and yet has to be directed towards the main goal of the business.

This can be achieved by creating a clear vision statement for business which needs to ingrain all the values at the crux of the business and which can be practically implemented individually at all separate business centers as well as holistically applied to the entire organization. [3] Business Leadership is the other major downside that Kathy faces at this point in time. A very practical way of encouraging innovative and affable business managers is to allow these managers a large degree of involvement in the top lien of the organization.

Monetary rewards are essential and will have to be provided in accordance with the opportunity cost of these managers, however, pay structures which include profit percentages will also help Kathy in attracting new business managers who will be committed to expansion and betterment of the company as their own personal incentives are attached to the gains of the company. Finally, Kathy should also look at sharing decision making powers with these managers in order to create a sense of longing amongst the new managers with regards to the core business practices.
