This does not mean that it is a shut case and that the team will not meet again and reexamine data later, it simply means they f feel they need more time and information to decide for sure if this is a case that needs Special Education or not. There purpose is not to diagnose the child or make any decision based on their placement, it is only a pre-referral system to look at and decide if a child should be referred to special education. The team is made up of the Principal, and any general education teachers that can give any results of their interventions with the student, or any other basic class room interactions. They offer the most useful input to the team, and can offer the first hand reactions and behaviors that the child has in the learning, classroom, setting.
