It has long been my ambition to become a professional Military Officer. I wish to be part of the group of devoted men and women who selflessly dedicate their lives to the welfare of our beloved country. It is my conviction that this career is a noble profession that is valuable and significant to society. I believe that serving my country in this endeavor is truly a great honor. Although work in the military is perilous, stressful, demanding, and a non-lucrative occupation, nevertheless, there is no better reward than to be regarded as someone of service to the community wherein we and our loved ones are living in.
That objective alone establishes a sufficient motivation for me to go through this challenge. I am aware that being a Military Officer carries with it a great responsibility and requires utmost devotion and determination. It is my aspiration to gain knowledge and expertise in this field to be of efficient service. I believe that every man has his own destiny. And in my heart, this is what I am committed to pursuing. b) What does society expect from me as a Military Officer As a Military Officer, I am expected to possess the necessary qualifications to fulfill this delicate function.
Society must be assured that I have a keen understanding and appreciation of the true nature and significance of the military profession and have a thorough awareness of the social responsibilities it entails. It is important to be trained to be an effective leader in all aspects of army life and to be responsible for a team of soldiers and other personnel under my command. Aside from possessing high degrees of self-discipline and excellent physical and mental fitness, I am required of expertise, broad liberal education, and technical knowledge to effectively apply military force in an orderly manner.
Society expects that its Military Officers are committed, competent, and capable of taking any mission whose objective is to protect and defend the country. Furthermore, beyond knowledge in strategy, operations, and tactics, a good Military Officer must possess an impeccably decent character and deep respect of moral values. c) What are three of my soon to be responsibilities as an Officer Towards Superiors - An officer is responsible upward to his military and civilian commanders. I am required to devote absolute and unqualified obedience concerning military orders.
My unquestioned dedication is imperative. A competent officer is duty-bound to trust and obey the lawful orders of his superiors. Towards Subordinates - As a military officer, I am also accountable for the soldiers under my command. It is my duty to ensure the welfare and to decrease unnecessary risks on my subjects. It is my job to competently command and lead my subordinates to honorably accomplish missions and maintain entrusted duties. Towards the Sovereign People - It is my primary duty to ensure the collective safety and protection of the ordinary citizens of my country.
Be it dealing with natural disasters or protecting my country during an international crisis, it is my obligation to be prepared and willing to apply my knowledge, strength and give my own life for the sake of the people to whom I am pledged.
