"Subdivisions of Subcutaneous Abdominal Adipose Tissue and Insulin Resistance" is a great example of a paper on diabetes mellitus. Diabetes is a topic that continues to be discussed and researched in various regions of the world. It is basically happening due to the increase in the number of people suffering from the disease. To be able to contribute to the existing knowledge and literature on the topic, this thesis project seeks to answer the research question: Does calorie restriction maximize lifespan among males with type 2 diabetes? Answering this query will provide the needed insight and understanding of the relationship between calorie restriction and lifespan among male patients with type2 diabetes.

Despite the topic of diabetes is a broad one, the formulated research question itself is not too big to address in a thesis research project. It has limited its scope to male patients suffering from type 2 diabetes. Moreover, only two variables which are calorie intake and lifespan are to be considered in the study (Kelley, Thaete, & Goodpaster, 2002). It is also worth noting the question is not too narrow to be used to generalize to a wider audience because it deals with a sufficient sample population.

The research question will make a significant contribution to the field of public health. This is a field that entails understanding the health needs and problems of the public and coming up with the right interventions to tackle them. Diabetes is one of the health challenges facing communities today (Kelley, Thaete, & Goodpaster, 2002). Therefore, it will not only facilitate coming up with solutions that will help the diabetic population but also add to the existing literature.
