This is caused by the fact that they try to relieve the symptoms or even by trying self-medication. Schizophrenic people tend to isolate themselves thus disrupting their relationship with both the public and their family members. Generally, people suffering from schizophrenia are unable to go about their day-to-day activities.

Generally, schizophrenia is treated through medication depending on the type. Medication includes drugs like risperidone, aripiprazole, quetiapine, and olanzapine. However, these drugs have side effects and should be taken as directed by the doctor. These side effects include weight gain which is caused by high sugar levels, dizziness, and increased appetite among others.
