"Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and Healthy Negative Emotions" is a perfect example of a paper on the disorder. Rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) is one of the most effective approaches being applied to help people resolve their mental problems. These problems can be associated with the emotional experiences of the individual or behavioral incidents that have rather disturbed the individuals and people around him. The therapists making use of REBT teach their patients to learn about healthy negative emotions to overcome the inability to function in a normal manner. However, it is estimated that the result of such a discussion can become critical.

The REBT therapy focuses on the negative emotions that deprive individuals to function normally. This can be a lack of confidence, anxiety, depression, etc. REBT therapist stimulates the negative emotions and feelings of the individual by informing them about healthy negative emotions. The meaning of healthy negative emotions in as per the model of ABC in the REBT therapy is to consider will power to be gained by accepting the weakness (Dryden 2001, 23).

This can be well understood with the example of a person who is not able to manage his work properly. As a result, he is more likely to blame other people. REBT introduced the patients to their healthy negative emotions i.e. to accept their weakness (Dryden 2001, 24).

The consequences of discussion of the therapist with the patients regarding healthy negative emotions can become critical because not all patients become mentally prepare for accepting their weaknesses. Thus, therapists have to make use of indirect ways to tackle such patients. The negative outcomes of such discussion are the non-willingness of the patient to discuss his weaknesses.
