"Health Administration" is a wonderful example of a paper on the health system. The payment that patients provide for medical or health care services plays a role in sustaining a hospital. This means that the hospital administration relies on the payments made by patients for medical procedures and therapy as a source of income for paying hospital staff, medical equipment, and medicines. It is arguable that hospital administration may focus more on the resource that the hospital acquires from the offered medical services as compared to monitoring the quality and safety of health care. This illustrates an ethical dilemma that hospital administration is faced with as related to the need to become profitable at the expense of health care quality and safety. In the light of this argument, it is arguable that hospital administration is likely to be less stringent to practitioners who are resourceful to the hospital regardless of their possible involvement in unethical practices.

Patients make decisions on the kind of therapy and medical procedures which are performed on them. This is the whole idea of informed consent in health care. It is postulated that health care providers are mandated to provide relevant and adequate information to patients on procedures and therapeutic measures so that their decisions on health care are informed. This means that health care practitioners should be willing to let patients make decisions on the kind of care which they should be provided with. The decisions that patients make on health care procedures and treatments are motivated by the will to live and sustain life. The need to safeguard life should therefore be preserved in all health care procedures and treatments even in cases where patients have lost the ability to make informed decisions.
