"Leadership Philosophy: Porter-O'Grady and Malloch" is a perfect example of a paper on the health system. Leadership is the essential factor to bring about the change in the human condition from the very beginning of the world. Regardless of the time of history, in every era, the leaders have emerged to facilitate, accelerate or cooperate in uniting the factors which affect this change. And in every age analysis of this leadership and leading qualities has been done and successfully recorded. In combination with generalized leadership consideration, there is a strong emphasis on it in the healthcare system. In this regard, the new philosophy accentuates the purpose, process, and people. There is a necessity for knowledgeable workers and precise processes, unlike past, when the system was considered totally as an economic entity and the focus was on capital leverage, scarce resource, etc.

In every field of health care, there is the unique requirement of the knowledge that only affiliates to that particular area of practice. Specialization in these areas of the profession has created a wide range of knowledge base practices, which was very unlikely in the past, in addition to physician practices other areas like pharmacy, nursing, diagnostic technology have also emerged. These practices share somewhat equal responsibility in patients’ healthcare. Each of the areas is interlinked with the other. On the other hand, the system deprived of these individual fields was observed to be less effective. The need for newer thinking in the leading of a healthcare system, some of the older factors still hold some significance such as power and authority management were the souls of leadership and no system could be successfully run without these in past.

The present era is the era of science and knowledge which on one hand challenges a person and he/she feels totally uncertain and unpredictable of its effects and on the other hand, it produces thinking which runs the age. The divergence between the older leadership philosophy and the newer one creates uncertainty and confusion among the system. The older system served those who controlled it, whereas, in complex adaptive systems the roles and rules as that of the older system are not inflexible and can be changed or transformed when required. The factors as unity or shared responsibility for a task making or development and aviation define this system. A system that needs a drastic change in the basic rules of the system leadership but it represents a more dynamic, innovative, and flexible relationship between decisions and actions. This system shows a singularity in the understanding and interactions between the different agents. However, this does not prove that other military applications do not hold any significance in the management but there are only the specified and narrow areas where they are required in the leadership. Like every other system, all the factors are interrelating with each other and if the change occurs in one part the whole system faces chaos and confusion so there is continual feedback and navigation in between the system (Rigolosi, 2005).

The complex adaptive system has a number of factors on which it depends such as emergence which is the rise of a new complex system out of the multiplicity of the simpler interactions which lead to a more innovative system co-evolution. When the system interacts with its external and internal environment they evolve or change themselves to be more precise according to the future requisites notion of thriving for the better is also its part because no system is perfect and gives itself the opportunity to improve. Small changes arising within the system can outgrow and improve it as well as feedback and communication, which can also provide the structural framework of the system.
