"Post Traumatic Stress Disorder" is a great example of a paper on the disorder. No one is immune to PTSD because it can affect all individuals of any gender and age, irrespective of one's way of life, socio-economic status, job, or ethnicity. PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, is categorized as an anxiety disorder that occurs in people who went through or witnessed an emotionally and psychologically distressing situation. According to  Sarah E. Hetrick and her colleagues who experimented on effective interventions for post-traumatic stress disorder, “PTSD is a potentially debilitating anxiety disorder triggered by exposure to a traumatic experience such as an interpersonal event like physical or sexual assault, exposure to disaster or accidents, combat or witnessing a traumatic event” (Hetrick, Purcell, Garner and Parslow 2).

There are basically three fundamental clusters of PTSD symptoms: first is reliving the traumatic experience; second, evading reminders of the trauma; and third, increased anxiety and emotional arousal (Sandweiss et al. 497). However, these manifestations can be misdiagnosed due to the unclear distinctions between mental health disorders such as traumatic brain injury and depression. Other symptoms of PTSD widely vary but may also encompass nightmares and difficulties in sleeping, paranoia, suicidal thoughts, and feeling guilty for surviving.

The most important thing to do, if in case we suspect any symptom of PTSD, is to always consult a doctor or health care provider as soon as any of the PTSD manifestations occur to a person. Currently, there are various interventions being experimented within the hopes of improving and increasing the effectiveness of treatments available for PTSD patients. Although the treatments for PTSD are normally long-term and tedious, the support, care, and love from the family members and friends can certainly help in improving the condition of those people who are suffering from PTSD.
