"History of US Health Care Systems Post 1988" is a wonderful example of a paper on the health system. 1990: Founding of National Committee for Quality Assurance. The non-profit committee was formed to assure that, health facilities and profits being granted are carefully taken care of and are up to a certain mark.

1992: The first vaccine for HAV (Hepatitis A Virus) was introduced in Switzerland, mainly for visitors in developing countries.

1993: The US Health Care Security Act was proposed by President Clinton. In order to secure the Medical rights of the people of the United States of America, then President, Bill Clinton proposed to reform the prevailing Health systems of the United States of America, by proposing the Health Care Security Act. However, the act didn’t get many appraisals in the Congress because of other counter plans being presented. Lack of widespread coverage and support blocked the President’s plans.

1996: Bill was passed by Congress according to which, Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) was dissolved and the control was transferred to a new body named Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF).

1996: Dolly was the first biologically cloned mammal from an adult mammal cell that marked a major breakthrough in the field of DNA replication. Dolly, however, passes away in the year 2003.

1997: State Children’s Health Insurance Program later, modified into Children’s Health Insurance Program (S-HCIP, CHIP), was formed, when it was established in 95’s census that more than 10% of children under the age of 18 and belonging to relatively low-income families lacked the basic health insurance facilities.

1998: A settlement agreement was signed among the Attorney General’s of 46 states and the United States top 4 Tobacco brands. The settlement was known as Master Settlement Agreement (MSA). The settlement was profoundly made to stop these companies from targeting youth in their advertising and publishing campaigns.

1998: Initial vaccine for Lyme Disease was invented. However, it was also reported that the first vaccine for the disease got rejected because of Mass distrust.

1998: Patient’s Bill of Rights was passed by Congress that enabled every American citizen with effective health conditions.

2003: Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) was first identified in a 48-year-old businessman who had recently traveled across Far-East Asia. It is a severe form of pneumonia.

2003: Human Genome Project (HGP) completed its 13-year journey of discovering all of the genes that make up Human DNA. The accountability of these genes reaches discovering all of more than 100,000 genes present in Human DNA.

2009: The first vaccine for the H1N1 influenza virus (Swine Flu) was invented. The vaccine however was produced in a limited amount and was initially primarily given to people with high risks of catching the virus. The target audience to cater first, being, pregnant women and infants.

2010: President Barack Obama, at the Whitehouse, signs; the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The act states that every single American should have proper health insurance by the year, 2014.
