It also incorporates clinical trials, the evaluation of the different treatment methods, and the development of newer technologies related to the disease.

The second step in clinical research involves the research related to the epidemiology of diseases and behavioral studies. The mechanism of disease distribution, its impact, and the various factors affecting the peoples’ decision in health-related matters are studied. The next critical step incorporates the research to identify the most effective treatment and service plans for the various diseases under study. This involves the observance of the efficiency of each intervention and ways to evolve an effective health care service procedure.

A clinical trial is a form of clinical research where an investigator undertakes controlled studies involving human subjects to understand the effectiveness and safety of new drugs, medications, devices, and other biomedical interventions (“Definitions of Clinical Research,” 2012). This enables the restriction of harmful medicines from public use and at the same time facilitates the utilization of effective innovations for the treatment of diseases.
