"Strategies for Improving Physical Activity and Designing Interventions" is a wonderful example of a paper on metabolic problems. Childhood obesity and adulthood obesity have remained a global epidemic. Most researches reveal the emerging trend with high concern. The need to avert this trend has been the focus of every researcher. The accumulated weight gained during the first three years of life predicts the child’s obesity and the later occurrence of the condition at adulthood (Hesketh et al, 6).

Further, cardiovascular and other morbidities are associated with this weight. Cross-sectional studies link obesity to the infant diet, activity, and sleep. Successful primary prevention of obesity in childhood could have a great impact on children’s life course since it contributes to lower cardiovascular risk, hypertension, obstructive sleep apnea, type 2 diabetes, and joint and bone problems. A study based on childhood obesity risk behavior recognizes home-based intervention as the effective way of managing this epidemic in society (Sobko et al 6).

However, the best method to be used for obesity prevention remains uncertain. Physical activities deem necessary as a way of intervening in this matter. Physical activities proved important in improving quality of life and increased attention to psychological health. In addition, the development of basic functional living skills is further believed to be related to maintaining appropriate levels of physical activity (Nakiya et al e195). Development of new interventions in order to increase the preschool physical activities such as encouraging girl’s morning physical activities should be taken into account.

Nevertheless, sleeping patterns determine the possibility of obesity in adults and children. Balance of sleeping habits and diet is, therefore, important in controlling obesity. Early obesity prevention is significant in stopping the future associated socioeconomic costs.
