"Harvard Healthy Eating Plate" is a great example of a paper on food and nutrition. MyPlate comprises dairy, fruits, and foods rich in protein, grains, and vegetables, which comprise approximately 30% of the plate--the largest group (“The Nutrition Source”). MyPlate lacks the encouragement to depict that whole grains are preferable for health. The protein group is ambiguous, as well as the vegetable section. The former also has no specifications regarding fat and the significance of dairy products. However, the fruits section makes MyPlate a plus factor (“The Nutrition Source”).

Harvard Healthy Eating Plate

Healthy Eating Plate offers whole grains, healthy protein, vegetables, fruits, healthy oils, water, and the concept of staying active is a moiety of mystery to weight management (“Healthy Eating Plate”). The plate suggests that whole grains are better than refined grains, as well as promoting only healthy foods that are rich in protein. Similar to MyPlate, the former also proposes fruits. The placemat precisely depicts that healthy oils are suitable for the heart. The best notion for this is the supplemented stay active, which is placed under the left corner of the placemat (“Healthy Eating Plate”).

Idaho Plate Method

Idaho Plate consists of vegetables, bread, starch and grains, meat protein, dairy, and fruit. In the placemat, fifty percent of the part is associated with the vegetable section (“Nutrition”). The fact that Idaho is generated to reduce the risk of diabetic problems (“The Healthy Diabetes”), may implicate that the nutritious recommendations aforementioned can be insufficient to provide the real nutrients for the body. However, the pros of the Idaho placemat are the same that it signifies improvements for diabetic patients who utilize the placemat.

In conclusion, I choose Harvard’s Healthy Eating Plate as the placemat depicts the balance of nutrients that our body needs. Unlike the rest of the placemats, the former is more precise and specifications are clearly defined.
