"Conjugated Linoleic Acid" is a great example of a paper on food and nutrition. The dietary supplement selected is Conjugated Linoleic Acid. The supplement is a polyunsaturated conjugated fatty acid. The supplement is a natural part of man’s diet derived from meat and dairy products like milk and cheese. The product comes from ruminants like cattle, goats, and sheep. The dietary supplements decrease the level of fat in man, lowers cholesterol and triglyceride levels, Increases muscle growth, enhances metabolic rate, and enable the user to avoid fat gain after losing weight.

            Conjugated Linoleic Acid can be taken in liquid form or in pill form. The user should take the dietary supplements as prescribed by the physician to ensure maximum effect. The dietary food supplement is derived from cud-chewing animals. Conjugated Linoleic Acid is a family of over 28 isomers of Linoleic acid found in meat and dairy products. Prolonged use of the dietary supplement causes insulin resistance, which triggers high blood pressure. High blood pressure increases the risk of diabetes; the user is at risk of inflammatory diseases and cardiovascular diseases (Wen-Qiu 1399).

            Physicians advocate that lactating mothers and pregnant mothers refrain from the use of dietary food supplements.  Some users may feel nausea after consuming the Conjugated Linoleic Acid with some cases of gastrointestinal upset.
