Fluvastatin is a medicine that has effects on the human body that reduces the high amount of cholesterol by inducing the transporter 4(MCT4) that emits the waste products. The cancer cells in the human body allow energy to be produced in the body by converting pyruvate to lactic acid which needs to be removed from the body through MCT4 transporter. Fluvastatin further affects the bladder cancer cells making them undergo stages when they are exposed to environments that have no oxygen or have a low amount of oxygen. This makes the cells multiply causing tumors and affect the supply of blood in the human body. For one to survive, the cells need to adapt to the low oxygen environment by increasing the number of MCT4 transporters in the cells.
