"The Use of the Health Belief Model in the Treatment of Diabetes" is a perfect example of a paper on Diabetes Mellitus. Research puts forward that there is a significant relationship between persons with diabetes Mellitus and the health belief model. A study by the American Diabetes Association shows an interview carried out for patients that are undergoing treatment of diabetes using insulin. The health belief model is evident in the study since the statistics underwent monitoring, and their compliance was above 50 percent. The findings show that most patients are compliant with the treatment but are not compliant with testing. The application of the model is introduced to change the beliefs of the patients courtesy of education classes at a community health center. As a result, an increase in the compliance of testing is seen, and improvement in testing also occurs (Silvestor, Tiffany & Rivera, 2005).

Another study is by the SAGE journal. The study establishes that many patients do not comply with health-improving activities since they distinguish that complying may cause the discovery of new diseases that they may be harboring (Johnson & violet, 2009). An opening of the model helps to establish the intervention that helps improve the perceptions of patients. Educational diagnosis is thus useful to promote the perceptions of non-submissive patients and improve results. Diabetic patients are also more compliant to consequent testing as well as testing.

In another study presented by the Journal of Diabetes & Metabolic Disorders indicates that persons living with type II diabetes require educational intervention. The study’s findings prove that the Health Belief model causes a significant effect on patients after three and six months (Bayat, Shojaeezadeh & Baikpour, 2014).
