In consequence, hospitals must dedicate a large portion of their resources to the prevention of infections in their institutions, rather than in the treatment process. Evidently, hospitals need to constantly improve their methods and put into practice new procedures to stay on top of infection prevention and spread. This is true because of an integrated approach to the management of MRSA in which hospitals share information on beneficial processes that work and learn from each other. This dissuades the repetition of mistakes in other hospitals. The only way to improve healthcare quality and reduce hospital-acquired infections is through proper management of MRSA and sharing of information about successful control measures.
