"Balanced Score Card at West Central Hospital" is an excellent example of a paper on the health system.
Considering the selection of metrics of this scorecard, I think that this particular scorecard will provide managers and administrators with a balanced view of the organization’s performance. I think so since this particular scorecard has included nearly all the important elements that need to get considered whenever checking for the project management in social care such as West Central Hospital. By considering the tool of Plus, Minus and Interesting, and Free Field Analysis, the organization gets in a position to have a balanced view of the organization’s performance (Projectsmart.co.uk, 2015).

In this case, an important metric such as the number of licensed beds, annual admissions, emergency departments, and a case mix index, which constitute the additional features, has gotten outlined. Among the services provided by the hospital, important metrics such as both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitative services, behavioral health services, neonatal intensive care unit, and all other ancillary and support services have gotten outlined. To improve on the balanced view of the organization’s performance, the scorecard should include the number of doctors employed in the hospital, both full-time and part-timers. This will help the organization to have a review on whether they are in a position to provide efficient services as well as meeting the demand of its growing clients’ population (Projectsmart.co.uk, 2015).

A strategic plausible goal for West Central Hospital can be to meet the demand of its clients’ growing population as well as being the best health provider in this particular region. The organization can realize this goal by focusing on three metrics that are already on the scorecard. They include; annual admissions for about 30,000, an emergency department with annual approximately 90,000 annual visits, and four licensed beds for general acute care.

Focusing on these three metrics and improving on them, then the organization will get in a position to increase the size of its annual admission. Also, it will increase its rate of general acute care services and the services provided in the emergency section. The hospital can as well as include the number of doctors and other physicians it is having since it will help it realize the goal of meeting the growing demand of the patient population.
