"How Dangerous Is a Low-Calorie Diet" is a wonderful example of a paper on food and nutrition. Dieting depends on the target of the process. Weight loss is the common target among the people in the dieting journey(The University of South Alabama). However, purposes such as physical appearance improvement obesity crisis have put healthy eating habits on the frontline(Mayo Clinic). Low calories and carbohydrates are common dieting strategies to curb the crisis. The two meals are associated with weight loss or controlled weight-loss diets adopted.

The low carbohydrate diet limits or detects the person to be on a no carbohydrate diet. Carbohydrates can be in the form of sugar, fiber, and sugar. Carbohydrate, especially that from wheat, is associated with weight gain.On the contrary, calorie dieting involves avoiding calorie sources such as fats and oils. Dieting is considered in a weight gain process since the addition of uncontrolled calories to the body can lead to unexpected weight gain. Furthermore, the combination of foods such as desert items, unplanned snacks, and casseroles can be a great source of calories(The University of South Alabama).

Nevertheless, the two meals are associated with vitamin deficiencies; therefore, it is recommended to supplement the diets with vitamins. Vitamin sources can include fruits, vegetables, meat, and multivitamins.A low-calorie diet can be utilized using two approaches, either using the free food method where the amount of food is not regulated. However, there is a limitation on the number of calories. Whereas, the second approach utilizes no-calorie on a diet. No calorie diet eliminates any fat in the food.

Similarly, the low diet utilizes a similar approach to calorie dieting. Elimination of calories and starch in the diet can lead to malnutrition; therefore, a limitation approach is recommended. Men need 2500 calories a day. Wherein, women need 2000 calories daily. However, men on the weight loss program need to limit their calories intake up to 2000 calories weekly for one pound loss per week (NHS). On the other hand, women need to maintain 1500 calories to lose a similar weight with an equal amount of time.

On the other hand, carbohydrate intake for healthy carbohydrate intake for a healthy person should 45 to 60 grams daily intake. Therefore some carbohydrates become calories sources in the meal. However, for a person on a low carb program, the intake should be limited to 20 to 30 grams daily(Mayo Clinic). The low carb and calorie program are associated with a tremendous weight loss plan. However, for the objective to be achieved, active physical activities should be incorporated into the plan. Increased physical activities fasten phenomenal achievement and increased physical, mental health state.

The two diets are incorporated in diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular-related diseases(Mayo Clinic). However, poor regulation of the low carbo schedule can lead to muscle weakness; therefore, body failure. Fatigue, skin rash, headache, and bad breath are other low-carb risks. Furthermore, prolonged low carb intake can lead to gastrointestinal disturbances( Bandoim). A low-calorie diet is also associated with similar problems; nevertheless, memory loss and gallstones are weaknesses associated with dieting.

In conclusion, a balanced diet and increased physical activities are required to achieve results with the low carb and calorie program. Furthermore, the limitation approach should be chosen over the elimination method. The approach is chosen to avoid the physical and mental strains associated with a lack of nutrients in the diet. Obesity and heart-related problems are crises in the health care systems, associated with excess intake of calories and carbos. The two programs can help in the management of the crisis.
