The first podcast was about maternity of the safest kind. IHI looked at the overall maternal health, observing trends and noticing what changes need to be made to make maternity the safest. They observe the misuse, overuse, and underuse of resources in perinatal care. They created a vision of what they need to accomplish, goals are written down to move to care that is of optimal value.

The next podcast was on Black Women and Maternal Care: Redesigning for Safety, Dignity, and Respect. The experience of the African American man or woman is always scary, an experience that made them feel discriminated against racially. Even if it did not happen directly to them, the stigma has always been there. This is not any different from black mothers; research shows that Black women are three to four times more likely to die during pregnancy and childbirth than white women in America. Research to find why this was the case showed that black women generally struggle and worry more. In an attempt to provide an ideal situation for the child, they let go of themselves, forgetting that their personal and emotional health should be their priority as the host of the bay's food. There has been an effort by IHI to help provide the needs of these mothers to regulate mortality rates. This has been done by providing high-quality maternity care in rural hospitals in the US. IHI recognizes that racism has played a part in this and aims to bring back equality and restore the dignity and respect that every mother deserves to be treated with regardless of race.

The next podcast was on Addiction and Maternal and Newborn Health. While most women are expected to be ready for motherhood and do everything to keep their children safe, some mothers are unable to do that. This podcast highlights mothers struggling with drug addiction and works on the steps that need to be taken to prevent them from accusing any harm to the baby. IHI decided to explore this topic and learn about what is being done and what can be done and actively participate in the healing process. To ensure this, they embraced the triple method of taking care of pregnant women during pregnancy and after birth. The triple model means the entire period of maternity, pre-conception, pregnancy, and afterbirth.

 Paying attention to mums during this period ensures that they have the right people to talk to keep their babies safe. IHI also took other steps to prevent the mother from shying away from speaking up. There is no mandated toxicology screening alone; it's not grounds enough to call children's services; this is to avoid discouraging mothers. Most mothers with a drug problem fear going for prenatal care because they are worried that someone will call child services. IHI wants to eliminate that fear so that mothers who need help can speak up. They also universally screen all pregnant women. Usually, social workers are fewer in some areas than the demand; when this happens, they use video calls to see the patient; this saves n time, and resources and enables the professionals to attend to many more people. When patients enter a treatment session when pregnant, they are three times more likely to stop drug abuse. IHI takes advantage of this to try and get as many mothers as possible in line.
