College studies are quite different from high school learning. There are bulky works that an ordinary college student has to go through and also a lot of assignments. This causes stress among the students since they were never used to such type of work. To reduce stress, some start abusing drugs such as alcohol and marijuana.

According to the work of jerehsi; joy, some college students are in unpaid internships while others work in underpaid part-time jobs. This causes stress since their lives become difficult; hence, they resolve in the use of drugs.

Transition: Now, we understand that stress is a significant cause of drug use in colleges; hence, there is a need for the students to be taught how to deal with stress positively.
