"Hospital Falls Among Hospitalized Adult Patients" is a good example of a paper on the health system.
Evidence-based practice is an involvement of 3 components meant to improve the results and quality of life generally. The external evidence includes various steps aimed at achieving desired results, which are; systematic reviews, best practices, randomized control trials, and changes in clinical practices supported by clinical guidelines. A PICOT question is best analyzed through the IOWA model, which serves as a lead for pharmacists to use research results to help improve patient care. The model describes a selection of topics, team formation, retrieving of evidence, evidence grading, development of evidence-based practice, EBP implementation, and evaluation.

PICOT Question

How do adult patients hospitalized over sickness perceive hospital falls to their healthcare providers during admission, and six weeks after discharge?

The facts that can be tied to this question are common to our speeches. It's right to state that a fall is an accident that can result in an injury like any other accident though of less weight. The human body is prone to various diseases; hence in case of an infection, the immune deteriorates with an immense impact on them.

Research Method and Design

A researcher is expected to use a specific period and give answers that are perceived to be either true or an estimation of the problem of education.  A quantitative research method would be appropriate for the research on falls in hospitalized patients. The study method would be useful to generate numerical data that would later be converted to valuable statistics hence validate the estimation on the case of the study. The quantitative analysis quantifies behaviors, opinions, attitudes, and other defined variables by which the outcome is generalized from a more significant sample population. The traditional design of data collection would be useful as a history of the past on patients would be collected, synthesized as evidence, and verify the facts to ensure a level of accuracy on my prediction on my research problem. Historical research digs into diaries, reports, and official records discretely extracting every possible outcome on the subject hence proving its efficiency to get over a specific time how hospitalized patients have responded to the falls and the expected character, therefore.

Reliability

Reliability is the level at which the outcome of a calculation, measurement, or specification can be accurate and useful. Using the traditional design in the case study, one must look into records and reports where if any data is corrupted, the possibility of getting significant results is next to none. Currie gives 1,000,000 patients affected by falls in year estimation in US hospitals. If the patients have been falling for a certain period, and the exact statistics were not noted down correctly, the outcome will ultimately be vague. Test-retest type of reliability is a promising road to precise statistics as the subjects of study are tested over a period to mark an absolute consistency before conclusions are drawn.

Validation

Validation refers to the act of proving or checking the accuracy of something or data that is provided.  Data that is used to draw conclusions and make estimations should be retrieved from a reliable source that can be termed validated as wrong information leads to incorrect data leads to false results. Hendrich, I fall scale gives a 17% estimation of fall victims without a validated cause. The results of that case study would be polluted if a high number of patients has fallen and records tampered with.

Pros of the method and design of the study

  • The traditional design allows study evidence on the things of the past hence less time-consuming and accurate.
  • Allows investigation of research problems that could be studied in no other way hence saving costs.
  • The quantitative method provides data that can be easily analyzed and come up with a solution.
