"Promotion of Family Health" is an outstanding example of a paper on social and family issues. 
Family can be defined as a group of people that are affiliated by consanguinity, marriage and or shared consumptions as well as residing in one residential area. Members of a family have been defined to include spouses, parents, children and siblings. Members of a family can also include grandparents, uncles, cousins and aunts in the case of an extended family.  The family plays an important role in the community as a principle institution in which children socializes with each other in a community and share common interests. The family also provides a framework of production and reproduction of people both socially and biologically. This occurs as a result of sharing material substances as well as providing care for the members of the family and the community in general. The family provides an avenue when the members learn to be good members of the community through caring for one another in the family and therefore building a better community in terms of responsibilities. It also forms avenues where the children are educated and in so doing the whole community is educated and cultured through the family.

An example of a conceptual framework for family assessment is the Neuman's Systems Model which has been used to guide nurses in the family assessment and consequently treatment of families that displays dysfunctional characteristics. The model is unique and has an open system perspective that is meant to provide a focus that is unified to provide a wider range of health concerns. The system is open to a wide creative interpretation and is therefore used as a multidisciplinary and comprehensive nursing guide for different practices. In family assessment, the model has been used to give direction in the choice of family therapy as appropriate and successful treatment. An example of the when it can be used is in its application in adolescent and child nursing practices to determine the cause of their detachment from the family bonds.

Community-based services that have been used in the promotion of health of families include educational services. The families are educated on the causes of diseases that are common in a specific area; they are also educated on the management strategies of specific diseases. This enables the family to take care of the sick in the family and also control the spread of the specific disease. There are also other services such as the provision of certain necessities that prevent or control diseases, for example, provision of vaccination services or mosquito control nets so as to control disease spread by mosquitoes. This works in the areas invested by the mosquitoes. It could be the provision of certain drugs used to manage chronic diseases such as diabetes. In the community that I live in, there is the provision of educational programs that are aimed at providing knowledge on hygiene so as to control oral-fecal infections.

Question 4

There are a number of skills and strategies that are necessary for a nurse to promote positive family intervention. The nurse must be knowledgeable and understanding so as to understand the crisis in the family, the knowledge is handy in providing the solutions that are anticipated for the mentioned problem. The nurse should also have excellent people skills since the nurse will be dealing with people of different ages and backgrounds and there is a need to put them at ease and sympathize with the problems and worries. The most effective strategy is to first listen and understand the problems presented then offer a solution gradually considering the options given by the clients. This provides confidence and makes the clients feel as if the solution was their own and will therefore work hard to make it work.
