Extract of sample "Bursting of the Health Care Bubble"

"Bursting of the Health Care Bubble" is an outstanding example of a paper on the health system. I agree with Kaufman’s sentiments that the health care bubble is going to burst. He clearly sites believable facts that support his claim. Most notably, he put it clear that the program solely dependent on the federal budget. However, the federal budget itself is not only sustainable but also is treading in a path deemed dangerous. Consequently, there would be an imminent rise in the federal debts that would, in turn, affect the country’s economy by increasing the cost of health care in several ways. These ways include the rise of the interest rates together with the risking of the overall prosperity of America as a whole (Kaufman, 2011).

Nevertheless, the claim that was made by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) that claimed that there are possibilities of keeping the tax revenues considerably low is inaccurate. The immediate consequences would be a reduction in the free medical programs that are offered by most of the states. On the other hand, long-term consequences would be the shift from either the free medical programs to the famous episodic or even the payments based on the population (Kaufman, 2011).

Physician autonomy and the organized medical staff

Kaufman claimed that Physician autonomy and the organized medical staff would become less relevant. He further shed more light on his claim by asserting that hospitals in the United States can be self-sustaining. This is because they are more than capable of earning their incentive payments depending on the nature and the quality of the medical services that they deliver. Moreover, he went as far as offering pieces of advice to the healthcare providers on how to come up and implement this method. Firstly, he urged the hospitals to come up with the bylaws that would enable them to meet patients’ satisfaction, safety, and processes.

He put it clear that it would assist in improving the quality of services offered together with maintaining the privileges of the hospitals. Secondly, setting up the clinical infrastructure together with the forming of committed and qualified physician leaders is the key to the improvement of the health industry (Mcguff, 2013). Kaufman pointed out that this move would ensure accountability as well as the quality of service delivery that would go along the way of satisfying the patients. Therefore, I believe that this move would improve overall patient care (Kaufman, 2011).

Prepared organization

According to Kaufman, a prepared organization is an organization capable of self-sustaining in regards to financing as well as satisfying its client's needs. In addition, a prepared organization is one that is well managed with proper and organized institutions. Based on the arguments of the Kaufman, I believe that the prepared organization is the way to go in case a lasting solution is required to address the challenges that are related to the healthcare bubble. This is because; the main challenges facing the healthcare bubble are financing together with the patient's satisfaction. It is important to note that these challenges can comfortably be addressed by the prepared organization as proposed by Kaufman (Kaufman, 2011). Other suggestions for dealing with the health care bubbles include offering services that are centered on patients and encouraging the hospitals to venture into other income-generating healthcare activities. Moreover, decentralization of hospital operations to the departmental levels is crucial (Brosio, 2014).
