Extract of sample "Health Care USA: Understanding Its Organization and Delivery"

"Health Care USA: Understanding Its Organization and Delivery" is an engrossing example of a paper on the health system. As predicted by the federal government of the United States, there would be a national shortage of physicians. Efforts on establishing new policies and programs were put in place to increase the number of physicians (Sultz and young, 2014, pp. 222). In addition, there was an increment in medical school funding to increase the number of physicians too. Attaining the right number of physicians helped inaccurate predictions of physicians supply needs through national and comprehensive methodology in the current health care delivery system.

Comparison in Dr. Vasavada’s response

Dr. Vasavada’s response and the readings both hold that the field of medicine has changed rapidly in the last 5-10 years. First, there is an increase in the ratio of medical specialists and primary care physicians to meet population needs for primary care (Sultz and young, 2014, pp. 223). There is the adequacy of the supply of primary materials care and physicians compared to the past. There is increased transparency that contributed to quality health care. In addition, there is the introduction of Health Information Technology (HIT), which aims at educating physicians to track, share and transfer medical knowledge between the patients and other physicians (Sultz and young, 2014, pp.231).

The use of the internet made it possible for physicians to develop personal web sites where they put their credentials, attract patients to act as referrals. The use of electronic and email in the sharing of information between the patients and the physicians advanced the medical practices in the last 10 years. The easy sharing of information between professionals because of the development of clinical practices has made it possible for physicians to obtain the latest information about research locations.

Therefore, the field of medicine has made surprising technological accomplishments in the last decade by increasing the number of highly specialized physicians. Advances in information technology and expansion of the workforce will continue making steps to ensure higher and quality medical attention compared to the long past (Sultz and young, 2014, pp 224). The advances have made it possible to tame the conventional medicine, media reporters and high drug prices but instead establish the use of policies and program.

Current health care reforms are much better than in the past. This is because of not only cheaper but also they were comprehensive and faster. For example, conditions that were treated in the research procedure in the laboratory are now treatable faster, procedural and cheaper. This is because of several advancements in medicine and another field of study related to medicine.

Challenges in health care provision

There is a constant rising of costs of medical liability insurance for physicians, teaching hospitals and medical schools. For example in the last 10 years, the liability premium cost of medical and hospital schools rose from 6 to 10 times (Sultz and young, 2014, pp.276). Another challenge is the ethical issues. The ethical and unethical issues affect and later become a dilemma to physicians especially those related to the field of molecular biology and genetic engineering.

The changing nature of diseases, disability, and treatment pose a threat in the quality of treatment administered (Sultz and young, 2014, pp.278). The aging population of a high growing number of patients with chronic illness and disabilities, cancer, stroke and the cardiac condition is on the rise. These conditions significantly increase the demand for more physicians. Other challenges include the expansion of home care facilities, corporatization of health care to prevent the solo practice, which is a practice of the past.
